How to see deleted messages on Telegram
Short answer: a message that has already been deleted cannot be seen. Not through settings, not through a recovery app, not through any third-party service. No copy of it exists — not on your phone, not on Telegram's servers, nowhere except with the person who sent it.
If this is a recurring problem rather than a one-off, only one approach works: start saving copies before anything disappears.
Why deleted really means deleted
When someone deletes a message "for everyone", Telegram tells your app to erase it. The app does exactly that, immediately: the message goes from the screen and from the local database on your phone.
It matters what kind of deletion this is. Telegram does not flag the message as hidden and keep it somewhere in the background. It removes it, servers included. That is not an oversight — being able to unsay something on both sides is sold as a privacy feature.
So there is nowhere to retrieve it from. For a copy to exist, something had to save it before the deletion. If nothing did, there is nothing to bring back.
What "Telegram recovery" apps actually do
Search results are full of tools promising to recover deleted Telegram chats. It helps to know what they can and cannot do.

A rule worth keeping: any service asking for your phone number and confirmation code "to recover your chats" is stealing the account. Real message saving does not work that way — it needs neither a code nor a password.
What you can try right now
If the message vanished moments ago, there is a small chance — genuinely small:
- Check notification history on Android. Some builds keep it for a day. The text may still be there even though the chat is empty.
- Look at another device. If Telegram is open on a tablet or desktop that has been offline, the message may still be on screen — until it reconnects.
- Ask the sender. It sounds obvious, but they usually still have it: people delete "for everyone" without realising their own copy survives.
If none of that works, the message is gone. From there it is worth thinking not about this one, but about the next.
How to make it possible next time
The only approach that works is having the copy appear when the message arrives, not when you suddenly need it.
Telegram has a built-in mechanism for this: the "Chatbots" section in your profile settings, which connects a bot to your account. The bot receives copies of messages in the chats you picked and keeps them. When someone deletes or edits a message, the bot sends you what it was.

One caveat worth stating before you start: this is not recovery. Only what arrives after connecting gets saved. Last month's conversation will not appear — there is nowhere to take it from.
Common questions
Does Telegram Premium let you see deleted messages?
No. Premium covers other things — upload limits, stickers, appearance. It has nothing to do with deleted messages.
What about groups and channels?
Same answer: deleted is deleted. The bot mechanism does not extend to groups or channels either — it works in private chats only.
Will the other person know my messages are being saved?
The bot connects to your account, not theirs, and the copies reach only you. That said, the responsibility for keeping a conversation with another person rests with you, and that is worth weighing.
Are photos and voice messages saved too?
Yes, supported attachments are saved along with the text. The exception is content Telegram protects deliberately: timed messages, view-once media and forward-protected content. Nothing saves those.
