Honest about the limits
Three things better learned now than after installing.
- Only works from the moment you connect. A message deleted before you connected Zorge cannot be recovered — no copy of it exists, not at the bot and not at Telegram.
- Only the chats you ticked. You pick the conversations when connecting. The bot has no access to the rest, and you can change the list at any time.
- Private chats only. Groups, channels and comments are out of scope — the Telegram mechanism Zorge runs on does not cover them.
How to connect
Everything happens inside Telegram. Nothing to install.
- Open your profile settings Profile → "Edit" → "Chatbots". In some versions the section sits under "Telegram Business" → "Chatbots".

The section exists in current Telegram versions on phones. Some desktop builds do not have it — open the settings in the mobile app.

Common questions
Can I see a message that was deleted yesterday?
No. Zorge saves copies only from the moment you connected it. Messages deleted earlier simply have no copy — not at the bot, not at Telegram, nowhere except with the sender. Full explanation.
Do I need Telegram Premium?
No. The "Chatbots" section used to connect bots is open to all users. You only need a reasonably recent version of the app on your phone.
Where are my messages stored?
On the Zorge server, encrypted with a separate key per account. Copies are kept for 90 days by default, then deleted automatically. You can delete your account and the whole archive from the bot at any time.
Does the bot read all my chats?
Only the ones you ticked when connecting. The list can be changed or cleared in Telegram settings at any time — you grant and revoke the access, not the bot.
Does it work in groups and channels?
No, private chats only. The Telegram mechanism Zorge is built on does not apply to groups or channels.
What happens if I disconnect the bot?
New messages stop being saved immediately. The archive already saved stays available to you in the bot until you delete it or its retention period ends.
