How to unblock someone on Telegram
Open their profile → menu (⋮ or ⋯) → “Unblock”. If the chat is gone, use the list instead: Settings → Privacy and Security → Blocked Users.
They get no notification that you unblocked them.
Way 1: from the profile or chat
- Open the chat, or find the person by name or @username in search.
- Tap their name at the top to open the profile.
- Menu (⋮ on Android, ⋯ on iPhone) → “Unblock”. In a chat with a blocked user, an “Unblock” button often replaces the message field.
Way 2: if you deleted the chat
- Settings → Privacy and Security → Blocked Users.
- Find the person. On iPhone swipe left or tap “Edit”; on Android tap the person or the menu next to them.
- Choose “Unblock”.
On desktop (Telegram Desktop): Settings → Privacy and Security → Blocked users.
What happens after you unblock
- They aren't told. They may only notice that your status and photo are visible again.
- Messages they sent while blocked won't arrive. Those stayed at one check mark and are not delivered later.
- A deleted chat doesn't come back. Unblocking doesn't restore history you deleted. What you can do about a deleted chat.
Unblock someone in a group or channel
If a member was removed and banned from a group or channel, an admin can let them back: in the group settings, open the members section and the list of removed users, and take them off it. They can then rejoin by link or be added again.

People often delete the chat for both before blocking. If you don't want to lose important conversations, a bot connected through Telegram's chatbot section (“Edit” → “Chatbots” in your profile; Premium not needed) saves messages in the private chats you choose as they arrive and sends you the ones the other person deletes.
