How to choose a Telegram bot that saves deleted messages
A legitimate bot of this kind connects through Telegram's own chatbot section and only keeps messages that arrive after you connect it. It never asks for your login code, never promises to recover old deleted messages, and says plainly what it stores and for how long.
Below are seven checks that separate such a bot from the scams that fill this niche.
Seven checks
- It connects through the chatbot section. You add it yourself in Telegram settings (“Edit” → “Chatbots”, part of Telegram Business) and pick the chats. That is the only official way a bot can see your private messages.
- It never asks for your phone number, login code, password or a QR scan. Those give full control of the account. A bot doesn't need them.
- It doesn't promise to recover the past. Messages deleted before connecting have no copy anywhere. “Recover any deleted message” is the most common lie in this niche.
- It's honest about groups and secret chats. Telegram doesn't deliver group, channel or secret chat messages to business bots. A bot claiming otherwise is not telling the truth.
- It states what it stores, for how long, and how it's protected — in a privacy policy you can actually read, with a way to export and delete your data.
- It says which permissions it uses. Telegram grants a connected bot fourteen permissions, including writing and deleting in your chats. A good bot uses only what it needs and says so. The fourteen permissions.
- It has a clear price and a contact. You know what you'll pay, can try it first, and know whom to write to.
Red flags
- “See anyone's deleted messages”, “read someone else's chats”.
- Login via phone number and code, QR code or a downloaded “mod” app.
- “Requires Telegram Premium” — outdated: the chatbot section has been open to all accounts since May 2026.
- Payment before you can see how it works, no privacy policy, no contact.

Use it only for your own chats. A bot like this keeps copies of messages people send to you, in chats you are part of. It is not a way into anyone else's account or conversations.
Common questions
Is there a Telegram bot that saves deleted messages?
Yes, bots connected through Telegram's chatbot section (Telegram Business) can keep copies of messages in private chats you select and show you deleted ones — but only from the moment you connect them.
Can any bot recover messages deleted before it was connected?
No. No copy of them exists, so no bot can show them.
Is it safe to connect such a bot?
It is safer when it connects through the chatbot section, never asks for your login code, publishes what it stores and uses only the read permission.
Do these bots work in groups?
No. Telegram doesn't deliver group, channel or secret chat messages to business bots.
